CACHE Deploys Electrified Heat and Thermal Energy Storage Unit at Whirlpool Ohio Facility
CACHE deployed its electrified heat and thermal energy storage unit at Whirlpool Corporation's Greenville, Ohio manufacturing facility to deliver continuous 24/7 heat for plant operations.

CACHE today announced the deployment of its Electrified Heat and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) unit at Whirlpool Corporation's Greenville, Ohio, manufacturing facility, providing continuous 24/7 electrified heat to support plant operations. The installation represents a major step in industrial heat electrification and reinforces Whirlpool Corporation's commitment to meeting its emissions reduction targets.
This deployment adds to a growing series of CACHE installations across industrial facilities, demonstrating the scalability and reliability of its TES technology in real-world operations. The TES system captures thermal energy generated from wind power and delivers it on demand, decoupling heat production from consumption. This allows companies to optimize energy usage, reduce peak demand, and maintain a reliable supply of electrified heat around the clock.
Engineered for continuous industrial operation, the unit delivers heat for diverse production processes at temperatures up to 1000F. Its modular design enables scalable capacity and straightforward integration with existing plant infrastructure.
"Industrial operations require consistent, reliable thermal energy," said Arpit Dwivedi, Founder of CACHE. "Our TES technology provides a flexible solution that improves energy efficiency, lowers operations cost and supports the transition to lower-carbon industrial operations."
By storing thermal energy during periods of lower-cost or surplus renewable electricity and releasing it as needed, the system stabilizes energy loads, enhances equipment utilization, and advances sustainability and electrification objectives.
"We are committed to electrifying heat without compromising reliability, and on demand thermal deployment strengthens our plant's ability to meet thermal demand without interrupting operations," said Scot Blommel, global sustainability senior manager at Whirlpool Corporation. "We're piloting the CACHE TES system to deliver dependable 24/7 electrified heat, meeting our operational needs today while advancing our long-term energy strategy. The installation was seamless and completed quickly, with no disruption to plant operations."
Shipped in a standard container, the TES unit was operational within days of arrival, demonstrating rapid deployment capability. CACHE addresses the high costs and complex integration challenges associated with conventional industrial heat technologies by using off-the-shelf components that simplify maintenance and reduce overall cost.
This project highlights how advanced thermal energy storage solutions can enable industrial manufacturers to electrify heat, enhance operational performance, and manage energy costs without disrupting critical processes.
Our TES technology provides a flexible solution that improves energy efficiency, lowers operations cost and supports the transition to lower-carbon industrial operations.
